Messy back-room photos are no longer a problem. Trace can now remove the background from any product photo with one click, replacing it with a clean white backdrop — both when you're uploading new photos and on photos already attached to your inventory.

The cleaned image syncs automatically to Shopify (and your eBay listings), and the original is always kept so you can restore it at any time.

Trace now connects directly to eBay. Link your eBay account and your Active inventory can be listed automatically — no double entry, no copy-pasting photos. Choose single listings or multi-variant listings per category, enable Best Offer, and let Trace map conditions automatically for used pairs.

When something sells on eBay, the order syncs straight back into Trace and a mirror order is created in Shopify, so stock stays accurate across every channel. Built-in listing removal tools make it just as easy to pull items off eBay when they sell elsewhere or get withdrawn.

Intake now starts with the scanner, not a setup form. Open the scan screen and start scanning immediately — no picking a consignor or location first. Items queue up as you go, and you choose the consignor and location once, at save time. If you assign a different consignor, payouts are recalculated automatically before the items are accepted. Perfect for busy drop-off days.

You can now generate QR codes for your in-store kiosk with filters baked in — brand, size, price range, and more. Print one next to the Jordan wall that opens the kiosk already filtered to Jordans in the customer's size range. Scanning the code activates the kiosk automatically, so there's zero setup on the device.

Inventory transfers just got a major upgrade. Every transfer now records a reason, an optional note, and a waybill number, and a new Transfer History page lets you review and export every transfer to CSV. You can also require outgoing and receiving signatures — and a receiving photo — so hand-offs between locations are fully documented.

Items keep their original status through the trip: something that was pending withdrawal before a transfer goes right back to pending withdrawal on arrival. And when the same product sits at two locations, the new manual swap tool exchanges the two items' codes and locations instantly — no re-listing required.

You can now require proof at the moment a consignor picks up their items. Turn on withdrawal verification in store settings and staff will be prompted to capture the consignor's signature, an employee signature, and a live photo of the hand-off before the withdrawal is completed.

Everything captured is saved to the item's timeline, so if there's ever a question about who took what and when, the answer is one click away.

Buying at a conference or pop-up? Buy Mode lets you scan items into Trace without setting a price on the spot. Each scan shows the current StockX lowest ask so you can negotiate with confidence, and the item lands in a dedicated pricing queue.

Back at the store, open the pricing screen and price everything in bulk — items go Active the moment you save. No more sticky notes or spreadsheets between the buy and the shelf.

Every change to an inventory item is now attributed to whoever made it — a staff member, a consignor, or an automated system like Linnworks or Auto Payout. Two-step flows are covered too: when a consignor requests a withdrawal or price change and an employee approves it, the timeline shows both the original requester and the approver. Full accountability, item by item.

Camera scanning across Trace has been re-tuned for speed. We now use your device's native barcode detector where available, target only the formats that matter, and scan at a higher frame rate — so codes lock on faster in the admin, at intake, during audits, and in the Shopify POS app. Less time hunting for focus, more time moving product.

Customer asking for a size you don't have? Staff can now log a back-in-stock request straight from the admin dashboard — the same requests customers can already create at the kiosk. The moment a matching item in that exact size is accepted into inventory, the customer is notified automatically. No lists behind the counter, no missed sales.

You can now choose exactly which location backs your online marketplace, keeping online-only stock cleanly separated from your shop floor. On top of that, marketplace access and physical drop-off can be toggled per consignor — so you decide who can list online and who needs to bring items in person. Onboarding for new marketplace consignors has been streamlined along the way.

The consignor portal now feels at home on a phone. Inventory and sales tables become easy-to-scan cards on small screens, action buttons stay pinned to the bottom of the screen where thumbs can reach them, and navigation has been rebuilt with a cleaner mobile drawer. Your consignors can check stock, request withdrawals, and track payouts from anywhere.

Setting up a custom domain for your consignor portal is now fully self-serve. Add your domain in settings, follow the DNS instructions Trace generates for you, and we take care of the rest — verification runs automatically every few minutes, and SSL is provisioned as soon as your DNS resolves. No support tickets, no waiting.

The consigner page in the admin now shows a consigner's full inventory across every status — not just active listings. Sold, paid, and pending items are all visible in one place, with totals for sold, paid, and pending payouts pulled directly from the consigner report for accurate at-a-glance stats.

Our new Shopify POS extension makes sure you never sell the wrong pair. When staff ring up an item at the register, Trace automatically checks for identical items in the same size and swaps in the lowest-priced one — so the item that should sell first, sells first.

The extension also supports camera QR and barcode scanning right from the POS, making in-store checkout as fast as scanning the tag.

Added or renamed a location in Shopify? You can now pull your locations into Trace with one click using the Resync from Shopify button in Settings > Locations. Location filters across the app update automatically after a resync.

By default, products are archived on Shopify when their last item sells. You can now choose to keep sold-out products active on your storefront with zero quantity instead — great for keeping product pages live for SEO and restocks. Toggle it in Settings > Inventory.

Consigners can now list items for sale online without dropping them off in store. With CheckCheck authentication enabled, items must pass authentication before going live — consigners are guided through a photo capture walkthrough when listing. You can also defer authentication until an item sells, or automatically submit the CheckCheck request at the time of sale. Configure it all in Settings > Marketplace.

We've moved our admin panel from app.fulltrace.co to app.jointrace.co. Please update your bookmarks and use the new URL to log in to your store's admin panel going forward. All your data and settings remain the same — only the URL has changed.

The new In-Store Kiosk feature lets customers browse your inventory right from a kiosk display in your store. Customers can search for items, check availability, and sign up for in-stock notifications — all without needing employee assistance. You can apply custom branding to match your store's look and feel, saving your team time and effort while making the search experience easier for customers.

Design fully custom labels with the new Label Designer — control layout, fields, barcodes, and branding to match your store's look. Pair it with the Print Queue to automate label printing across locations, so labels are generated and ready to print as inventory is received. Manage everything from Settings > Label Designer.

Quickly add inventory by scanning barcodes. Select a consigner and location, then use your barcode scanner or manually enter a GTIN to look up and intake products. The scan-to-intake flow keeps a running count of scanned items, making bulk receiving fast and error-free.

You can now set a default location for each employee, ensuring all location dropdowns are pre-filled and restricting product entry to that location. This keeps data entry consistent across your team and reduces errors when working with multiple locations.

The new Inventory Counts feature lets you perform physical inventory counts to verify your stock levels. Start a count, scan or search items, and track your progress with real-time stats showing expected, counted, and missing quantities. Access it at Inventory > Inventory Counts.

You can now audit your Shopify store to verify that your products on Trace are correctly synced. Quickly identify and resolve any discrepancies between your Trace inventory and Shopify listings. Available in Settings > Resync & Maintenance.

The new Rebalance page makes it easy to spot variants with surplus stock at one location and none at another, so you can quickly transfer inventory where it's needed. Search by product, filter by location, category, condition, or minimum surplus, and kick off transfers in a single click.

You can now send consigner emails from your own custom domain, giving every message a fully branded sender address instead of a generic Trace one. Set up your domain once and all outgoing consigner notifications will come from your store's brand.

A new button on the timeline when inventory is Sold will now directly take you to the Shopify page for that order.

We've added a deeper image catalog for thousands of SKUs (mostly the popular sneakers). This means when you create new products you'll automatically get multiple product photos to work with.

You can also add photos from the catalog to any existing product, and they'll be synced with Shopify.

You can now add multiple product images directly on Trace and have it sync with Shopify. This feature is available for both products and inventory items.

Inventory items that have multiple images, will have their images removed from Shopify upon sale of product. Often times, stores use additional apps such as Rubik to handle multiple images for inventory items. This is especially helpful for used shoes.

We are excited to announce the launch of Pario, a sneaker price comparison tool by Trace. Pario enables you to compare product prices across StockX and GOAT to get a comprehensive view of current market prices for sneakers.

We've added support for Auto-GTIN fetching for sneaker products, you can one click fetch as many GTINs as possible for the shoe sizes available. GTINs are unique identifiers for sneakers, and they are used to track inventory and sales across multiple retailers, often used in advertising on Google, Facebook, etc.

The new activity feed is designed to let store owners and managers keep on top of their inventory movement and know what's going on day to day in their stores. You can access the activity feed in the navbar or on the dashboard for easy monitoring of all store activities.
